Bone Hourglass
Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, 2012
The reflection of time was the core of the project, designing an object that functions as a clock, measure the passage of time, while exhibits inherent ephemerality.
The initial concept for the object was to present a bone in a state of powder, contained in the form of a solid bone, reference to the classical sand hourglass.
Due to some technical challenges, the bone powder was replaced with water. The two bones are held together with a stainless-steel tube connector, sealed with a PVC sheet. The plastic tube transfers the water from one bone to the other. It was necessary due to the irregular voids of the bones.
